Walking towards the Light from the cross of a King

Keep Going II

“Keep Going” Part One is in my blog “archive” if you wanna check it out.  I believe it is from May 07. My hope is that these words, lyrics, verses, and quotes will reach down to your heart.  My hope is for encouragement to be the result.  Not just a “pat on the back”-type thing….no, an encouragement to find God as the Only Satisfying Truth in this life and to leave the junk behind in pursuit of Him.  That’s a lot to hope for, I know.  But it is not only my hope, it is my prayer as well.  Please read on.

The wages of sin is death, but the Gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

I’ve got plan to make it work. I know that I’ve been a jerk, but somethin’s been changing inside me.  Will you forgive?  Will you believe?

Jenn’s Song—-Bleach

The beginning of atonement is the sense of it’s necessity.

Lord Byron

But the moon still shines, the stars seem brighter.  I see You through the haze, so I remain unfazed.

Unfazed—The Waiting

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

2 Peter 3:18

Don’t throw your pearls to the swine tonight.  Don’t let them take your innocence.  Just remember the times that I held your hand and kept you close.  Remember the times I held you up and now……

Can’t you see, I won’t leave.  But you have to open your eyes.  Here I stand, take my hand.  Let go of the fear that you hold.

She Cries—East West

Hope is the dream of a soul awake

French proverb

So I’ll fight the currents, I’ll fight the undertow.  Help me swim away from where my weakness grows.  And LAY me down at Your feet and Sing the words that You know I need.  Cuz I’m here, I wanna hear Your heartbeat.  Please put Your love around me and let me know that You’re here.  Now I’m an arm’s reach from You, the Lover of my soul.  You’re the Lover of my soul.

Heartbeat—Bleach

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise

Psalm 51:17

Before the throne of God above, I have a strong and perfect plea; a great High Priest whose name is Love, who ever lives and pleads for me.  My name is graven on His hands, my name is written on His heart.  I know that while in Heaven He stands no tongue can bid me thence depart.

Before the throne of God Above—Charitie Bancroft

But when I look at the stars, when I look at the stars…when I look at the stars, I see Someone else.  When I look at the stars, I feel like myself.

Stars—Switchfoot

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have LIFE, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:10

I’ve got a picture of Jesus.  In His arms, so many prayers rest.  We’ve got a picture of Jesus.  With Him we shall be forever blessed.  FOREVER  BLESSED!

Picture of Jesus—Ben Harper

When we are flat on our backs there is no way to look but up.

Roger Babson

Bearing shame and scoffing rude;

In my place condemned He stood;

Sealed my pardon with His blood.

Hallelujah!  What Savior!

Man of Sorrows—Philip Bliss

All I need is Your love to come and fill this heart of mine.  My heart is a desert that has gone dry, and I need Your love to carry me by.

All I need—Shawn McDonald

I wanna know that my heart’s still beating. It’s beating. I’m bleeding.  I wanna wake up kicking and screaming. I wanna live like I know what I’m leaving.  I wanna know that my heart’s still beating.

Awakening—Switchfoot

The law of the Lord is perfect; reviving the soul

Psalm 19:7

And you know you’re never sure, but you’re sure you could be right…if you held yourself up to the Light…

Tonight, Tonight—Smashing Pumpkins

Honesty before God requires the most fundamental risk of faith we can take: the risk that God is good, that God does love us unconditionally.  It is in taking this risk that we rediscover our dignity.  To bring the truth of ourselves, just as we are, to God, just as God is, is the most dignified thing we can do in this life.

Gerald May

Hope is alive while we’re apart.  Only tears speak from my heart.  Break the chains that hold us down and we shall be forever bound.

I shall not walk alone—Ben Harper

Gimme one more time around.  Gimme one more chance to see.  Gimme everything You are.  Gimme one more chance to be near You.

When everything inside me looks like everything I hate, You are the Hope I have for change, You are the Only chance I’ll take.

I’m on fire when You’re near me.  I’m on fire when You speak.  I’m on fire burning these mysteries.

On Fire—Switchfoot

As for God, His way is perfect; The Word of the Lord is proven; He is a Shield to all who trust in Him.

Psalm 18:30

Complacent, you’ve been paralyzed.  Ambition’s all run dry.  So bring it on back, you gotta get back.  Bring it on back NOW!  Get up, Get up, Get up!!

Get up—Bleach

When I lay down my guns and lift my hands.  Surrender to love and live again.  May this desert reach it’s end, when I lay down my guns and lift my hands.

Lay Down My Guns—Sanctus Real

There is a Fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins.  And sinners plunged beneath that flood:

Lose all their guilty stains

Lose all their guilty stains

Lose all their guilty stains

And sinners plunged beneath that flood

Lose all their guilty stains.

There is a Fountain—William Cowper

Everybody has tarried in a barren, even in a devil’s den.  But if the cross that you carry should slip from your hands, get on your knees and pick it up, pick it up, pick it up again.

The Blood is Enough—-The Waiting

But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED.

Isaiah 53:5

I’ve gone on, way too long.  Now, I’ve had enough.  I’ll give it up to You.  This storm is great…but You are SO MUCH GREATER.

All to You—Bleach

Incline my hear to Your testimonies, and not covetousness.  Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things and revive me in Your way.

Psalm 119:36

You’ll never be able to speak against sin if you’re entertained by it.

John Muncee

Hope never abandons you; you abandon it.

George Weinberg
